ABOUT Utah Dance Festival
Co-sponsored by Creative Arts Academy and Utah Dance Educators Organization (UDEO) the Utah Dance Festival (UDF) is designed to showcase private sector dance in Utah. Each group’s dancers will take master classes, perform for our panel of adjudicators/judges (optional), and have the opportunity to be selected for that evening’s Gala Concert.
UDF is not a dance competition—It is a festival. We seek to provide a venue that embraces dance for its artistic merit, inspires creation and performance, provides performance experiences in a theatre setting, and builds community between dancers.
Utah Dance Festival Aims to:
1. Provide dancers the opportunity to perform in a non-competitive event.
2. Develop artistry in Utah dancers by giving them performance opportunities.
3. Embrace creativity and artistic excellence by rewarding students and schools for innovation,
choreographicdevelopment, creativity, technical excellence, and performance.
Our master teachers boast years of professional experience as well as degrees in higher education and teaching experience at universities across the United States. They are beautiful dancers but, more importantly, are also inspiring teachers.

Schedule: The Utah Dance Festival will be organized into 2 groups this year. Group 1 will
be adjudicated in the morning and take Master Classes in the afternoon and Group 2 will take Master Classes in the morning and be adjudicated in the afternoon. Dance Schools will be assigned to group1 or group 2 closer to the Festival.Group 1: Meeet at Viewmont High School

Cost: $45 per Dancer

Dancers 8-18 years oldDances: Each dance school will be allotted 12 minutes of dance time. You may use this time to
perform up to 4 dances however no single dance should exceed 6 minutes.Please bring all costumes and necessary props.All music should be brought on a CD in the order of your performance.Each school is guaranteed to have one piece in the evening Gala Concert. Dancers need to be on time and ready for all performance and adjudication times.
Any schools that miss their time slot will be unable to be adjudicated or to be selected to perform in the Gala Concert.
Utah Dance Festival seeks to provide additional performing opportunities for dance schools in Utah, master classes from inspiring and professional teachers, and hopes to build strength in the Utah dance community. We are excited to offer you and your students the opportunity to participate in a day of excellent master classes and an evening Gala Concert that is professionally done, fully produced, and that features the excellence of your dancers and choreographers.
