Amber Shepherd-Frostad
Amber started dancing at the age of 4 where she was trained in all styles such as ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, and modern. As she grew, her love and passion for dance increased but her loyalty to percussive footwork started taking root. After high school, Amber attended Brigham Young University where she performed and traveled with the International Folk Dance Team. During her 4 years on the team, her performances took her all over the United States and all over the world, including France, Spain, Belgium, Croatia, and Italy. While at BYU, she also taught beginning and intermediate tap and clogging in the Dance Department. After graduating with a BS in Statistics, Amber took a job in Madison, Wisconsin and within a few months, she found a local studio and taught Intermediate and Advanced Tap. She also choreographed for their competitive team. After three years in Madison, Amber moved back to SLC where she currently teaches and performs with the Percussive Footwork Ensemble. Amber is so excited to continue her journey with the Creative Arts Academy dancers and staff!
