Ballet, Creative Movement, and Kinder Jazz
An exploration of the fundamentals of classical dance techniques.
LEVELS
Pre-Primary Ballet and Creative
Students will learn positions, vocabulary, and traditions of classical dance, in a fun and creative class setting. Through props, stories, and songs students will dance in center, across the floor, and in simple pathways to build coordination and balance.
Primary Ballet, Creative, and Kinder Jazz
These classes include a progression of the skills, traditions, terminology, rhythm, and coordination of the previous level. Students will receive an appreciation for dance and music as they increase their understanding of and ability to perform proper technique.

Black or solid colored leotards
Dance shorts, capri or ankle length leggings
Bare feet, socks, or jazz shoes per teacher request
Hair must be pulled off the face in a ponytail or similar style
Males:
Black or white fitted athletic t-shirt
Black athletic shorts or pants

CREATIVE DANCE
This is an introductory course to dance. Students will explore levels, shapes, rhythms, and pathways, while developing coordination, locomotor, and socialization skills. Through props and stories, students will learn about dance and its elements, time, space, and energy.

Students will learn dance studio behavior such as: listening, taking turns, and standing in a line. Through a structured warm-up, students will work on coordination, balance and locomotor skills, like skipping and galloping.
Creative B
Build self-confidence while exploring dance. Through movement exploration, students will improve their agility, spatial awareness, strength and flexibility. Students will learn basic dance steps and terminology.

JAZZ
Jazz dance is a movement style that encompasses musical theatre, lyrical, contemporary, social, and commercial dance forms. Our jazz classes begin with a series of warm-ups and exercises to help students gain strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination, and then followed by dance combinations that emphasize musicality and stylized performance.

TAP
From Broadway to the streets, tap dance is a timeless art. With a combination of precision and intricate footwork, dancers create percussive music with their feet. Our classes train students in both traditional and rhythm techniques.

This class will focus on technique, body placement, terminology, coordination and rhythm.
