Hannah Sterling
Hannah Sterling, who is originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, began her preprofessional training at The Rock School for Dance Education; as well as the San Francisco Ballet School, Chautauqua Dance Institute and American Ballet Theatre New York summer intensives. Hannah competed in a ballet competition, Youth America Grand Prix, where she won first place in the senior classical ballet division for the Northeast region in 2011. She also placed in the top twelve for classical and contemporary categories from 2011-2013 as well as receiving scholarship offers and contracts from the international finals of Youth America Grand Prix held in New York, New York. Being offered opportunities to dance professionally from the Munich Ballet, Grand Rapids Ballet, and Royal Winnipeg Ballet; Hannah decided to attend the University of Utah in 2013 and was hired by Ballet West II in 2015. There she danced a diverse repertoire that ranged from classical and contemporary pieces; she danced a lead role in Ballet West’s resident choreographer Nicolo Fonte’s piece called, “Piece of My Heart”. Other ballets she danced in included Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, The Nutcracker, Symphony in C, Chaconne, repertoire from Bourneville, and many more. She is also the founder and CEO of a non-profit Project L.E.A.P.
