Jen Wheelwright
Jennifer Jackson Wheelwright received her Bachelors degree from the University of
Utah majoring in Ballet, with an emphasis in Performing. She was a member of Utah
Ballet - the University of Utah’s performing Ballet Company – from 2009 - 2013. In 2013,
she was chosen by University dance faculty to receive the “Outstanding Senior” award.
In 2013, Jennifer performed with Sejong University Department of Dance in Seoul,
South Korea. Also, in 2013 she Performed the roles of Big Swan and Spanish in the
University of Utah production of Swan Lake. She was Chosen by professors and guest
choreographers to perform soloist roles in their contemporary ballet pieces. In multiple years,
Jennifer auditioned and was chosen to dance in the annual Mormon Tabernacle Christmas Concert, including a soloist ballet lead and specialty pieces. She has performed the roles of Clara and Sugar Plum Fairy in the Nutcracker, Robin Red-breast
in the Secret Garden, Tiger Lily in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, along with several other roles in other productions at IBT.
Jennifer is ABT certified for levels Pre-Primary to Level 3 and has been teaching ballet since 2011. She has also been working as the Ballet Director at Creative Arts Academy since 2016. She has directed the studio’s productions of Swan Lake, The Wizard of Oz, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty, and Peter Pan. In addition to directing, she has choreographed pieces and trained students who have placed highly at national dance competitions including a piece that placed 1st at Dance Awards. Students she has trained have also placed highly in ballet competitions such as YAGP and ABC.
Jennifer has found her passion in teaching and helping her students to love the artform of dance as much as she does.
