Ballet Level 1
In this level, students begin their formal classical ballet training. Barre work is introduced with a strong focus on alignment, individual turnout, foot development, and port de bra. Ballet etiquette and correct technique is stressed as the students’ confidence and self-assurance are developed.
Ballet Level 2
Students will continue to develop their technical knowledge and understanding of classical ballet theory as well as increasing stamina, coordination, alignment, and the ability to retaining corrections from one lesson to the next. Students in this level are interested in furthering their ballet education.
Ballet Level 3
In this level, students gain proficiency and confidence, and a greater emphasis is placed on artistry, movement quality, and performance. Students who have enrolled in pre-pointe are eligible to take a pointe readiness test with instructors' approval.
Ballet Level 4
This level focuses on expanding students' knowledge of technique and terminology to establish a greater understanding of balletic concepts. Additional awareness is emphasized in performance precision and transitions to build stronger performance quality. Students who have completed one year of pre-pointe are eligible to take a pointe readiness test and begin pointe with instructors' approval.
Ballet Level 5
(dancers must be en pointe)
Students in this level have proven to be proficient and have a strong work ethic. Detailed coaching, performance, and observation techniques are introduced in this level to balance strength and expression through performance.
Ballet Level 6
(dancers must be en pointe)
In this level, students have developed enough strength and skill to begin performing most steps in the ballet technique en pointe. A strong focus is placed on pushing students beyond their limits to encourage a greater performance aesthetic.
Ballet Level 7
(dancers must be en pointe)
Students in this level are expected to be detail-oriented, understand ballet concepts, terminology, etiquette, and lead by example. Students will be challenged physically and mentally in this level. They will be encouraged to be self starters, set goals, and explore style.
Ballet Level 8
(dancers must be en pointe)
Dancers in this level are pre-professional students who are interested in pursuing dance in college or professionally. They are given a real-life view on what it’s like to be a professional dancer while continuing to strengthen their technique, musicality, expression, and dance beyond the classroom.
Pre-Primary Ballet
Students will learn positions, vocabulary, and traditions of classical ballet, in a fun and creative class setting. Through props, stories, and songs students will dance in center, across the floor, and in simple pathways to build coordination and balance.
Primary Ballet
These classes include a progression classical ballet skills, traditions, terminology, rhythm, and coordination. Students will receive an appreciation for dance and music as they increase their understanding of and ability of excecute proper ballet technique.
